The operator, Parks Canada, says Banff Upper Hot Springs closes from October 13 to early November for annual fall maintenance. Otherwise it opens daily 10am-10pm, holidays included, last entry 9:30pm. The water is kept at 37-40°C; the top minerals are sulphate (572 mg/l), calcium (205 mg/l), bicarbonate (134 mg/l), magnesium (42 mg/l) and sodium (6.6 mg/l). The outdoor pool sits between Rundle and Cascade mountains, has drawn visitors since 1886, and the bathhouse is a federal heritage building with exhibits. Entry is first come, first served and sold only at reception; Roam bus Route 1 runs from downtown Banff.
