How it works
The operator has run its original wood-fired sauna on Seatown Beach, opposite The Anchor pub, since 2020. The sauna is built of cedar with two-tier L-shaped benches and a sea-view window; the FAQ gives 70-90°C, about 60°C on the lower bench and 70°C on the upper, with guests adding water (optionally with essential oils) to the stones. To cool down there are buckets of cold water outside and the sea, tide permitting. There are communal sessions, weekly sauna clubs, full-moon saunas, events and private hire. The beach page says it opens every day except Wednesday, 10:30am to 7pm, but also says "open 7 days a week"; and the FAQ still says it is private hire only, although communal sessions are on sale. There is a car park at the bottom of the hill. The site does not publish the capacity of communal sessions.
60-minute communal sessions booked online (90 minutes for the Sunday silent sauna).
