How it works
Sawna Bach publishes a wood-fired sauna on the shore of Llyn Padarn in Llanberis, opened in 2024, housed in a trailer, with shared and private sessions of 50 or 80 minutes (changing time included). A shared session takes at most 6 people, aged 16 and over; a private one up to 8. All sessions are staffed, with the team tending the fire. The sauna has two bench levels and runs between 60°C and 100°C; essential oils may be added to the water for the rocks, and guests are asked to check with others before pouring. Swimwear is required; the changing area is small and not private. There is a cold shower and pouring jugs, and dips are at your own risk, with no lifeguards. It is reached by a signed woodland path behind the National Slate Museum from the car park. The nearest car park, Gilfach Ddu, is paid and charges for the full day; there are public toilets and cold drinking water at the sauna.
