How it works
The operator publishes two wood-fired Nordic saunas, hand-built in converted horseboxes, with HUUM stoves, two-level L-shaped benches and local sheep wool insulation: YAN, seating 4, and TAN, seating 5. They are sited at Bank Ground Farm on the east shore of Coniston Water, with jetties and a swim ladder into the lake and a watering-can cold shower. Booking is per seat, at £20 per person, in 55-minute sessions with 5 minutes of cleaning between them, on Saturdays and Sundays from 12pm to 4pm; each slot has at most nine people and people cannot swap in and out of one booking. Children aged 10 and over may attend with supervision and a signed waiver. Guests are asked to bring swimwear, two towels, water and easy footwear; daywear and underwear are not allowed in the sauna. There is a boathouse for changing, a toilet in the farmhouse and a composting toilet by the lake; the Swallows and Amazon cafe operates at the farm. Parking is by the sauna, with limited spaces.
