How it works
Hwyl publishes a wood-fired sauna with a sea-view window by the slipway on the main beach at Saundersfoot Harbour, with 25 or 50-minute shared sessions for at most 6 people and private sessions for up to 7. Changing time is included, and the changing area inside the unit is communal, so guests are asked to arrive in swimwear. Check-in is at the light blue office next to the sauna, 10 minutes before, with a completed waiver. To cool off there is the sea and the harbour's free community cold shower; the nearest toilets are on the harbour by the sailing club. Under-12s are not admitted and 12 to 16 year olds only in private sessions. During very high tides the sauna may be moved, and in extreme weather it may close. Hours vary through the year, and rescheduling or cancelling needs 24 hours' notice. According to a Nation.Cymru report from July 2026, the sauna has operated under a temporary two-year planning permission since June 2024, and national park planning officers recommended refusing the application to keep it in place permanently. The temperature is not published.
