How it works
The Taybank publishes Braan Sauna, a handcrafted sauna with a HUUM wood-fired stove, set on the bank of the River Tay from October until the end of March, with views of Dunkeld Bridge; the current season reopened on 16 October. It fits up to 8 people. Use includes a 6ft-wide cold water plunge tank, a changing area, a cold shower and bucket shower, a communal firepit and outdoor seating. Community sessions, booked per person and described as for members of the local community, run on Mondays at 8.30pm, Tuesdays at 7pm and Fridays at 11am; private hire is available every day from 11am to 10pm. The rules forbid nudity, alcohol, glass and smoking in the sauna, entering the river and under-17s; they recommend 5 to 12 minutes at a time (20 at most) and only the provided water on the stones. Bring swimwear, a towel, sandals and a water bottle. Cancellations up to 48 hours before are refunded. The temperature is not published.
Booked community session per person, 1 hour 20 minutes, in three fixed weekly slots.
