How it works
The operator publishes floating saunas moored at the Carillon Point marina pier on Lake Washington, described as a traditional wood-fired sauna on a barge. Each sauna has a changing room with small lockers, a hot room seating up to 9 and a deck. In a social session guests book a seat, not the whole sauna, and can move between the two saunas, one in cedar and one in magnolia. Sessions last 75 minutes, starting at 7am, 8:30am, 10am, 11:30am, 1pm, 2:30pm, 4pm, 5:30pm and 7pm. The sauna runs 170-195°F (77-91°C), with water on the rocks; the lake, at 39-49°F (4-9°C) in winter and spring, is the cold plunge, with a swim ladder and a bucket on a rope. The hot room is swimsuit only; there are no showers and the public restroom is on the pedestrian level. Even last-minute walk-up guests check out online. The homepage says it is closed on Tuesdays, while the footer and the social sauna page give daily hours of 7am-7pm.
Booked seats in shared 75-minute social sessions, with peak and off-peak prices and member discounts.
