How it works
The operator, the association Foreningen Sjællandsgade Bad, says the bath was built in 1917, closed by the city in 2010 and reopened by the association on July 5, 2013, staffed by volunteers. Bathing and sauna cannot be booked and are paid at the door: Wednesday 3pm-9pm, Saturday 9am-3pm and Sunday 5pm-8pm with gender separation by floor, Friday 4pm-7pm for all genders. There are claw-foot tubs in the common room and in single rooms, a sauna where guests may pour water on the stones, a cold plunge tub on each floor and tea included with entry. Saunagus is ticketed through Place2Book, 17 places per one-hour session with three rounds; Tuesdays by gender, Thursdays and Sundays mixed. Swimwear is optional. The site says the first-floor sauna has been under renovation since October 1, 2026, due to finish in the first week of November; showers and tubs stay open and saunagus moves to the ground floor. Towels are not rented; the price table gives 1 hour for a tub bath and the facilities page gives 45 minutes.
Walk-in, pay-at-the-door bathing and sauna, with gender-separated days and one mixed day; saunagus in one-hour sessions with booked tickets.
