Operator publishes the communal baths in the Japan Center, behind the AMC Kabuki 8 theatre, operating since 1968: a hot pool at 104 °F, a cold pool at 55 °F, a cedar-lined dry sauna at 150 °F, a steam room at 120 °F, seated showers modelled on a sentō and standing showers, with sea salt for scrubs, chilled face cloths, teas and flavoured waters. Bathing is by reservation only, in 2h30 blocks, with a limited number per day and photo ID at the door. Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays are for women and Thursdays and Saturdays for men, with bathing suits optional; Mondays and Tuesdays are for all genders, with suits required. The house asks for minimal talking and bans phones. Ages 12 to 18 are admitted with a parent or guardian; children under 11 are not. Capacity is not published.
