How it works
The City of Gothenburg publishes the Jubileumsparken sauna as open to everyone, all year and free of charge, with 25 seats and mixed and separate shifts booked through TimeCenter; in the summer season it runs as drop-in. Published rules: shower first, no nude bathing, always sit on a towel, no food, alcohol, glass or perfumed products, and no pouring water on or touching the heaters; a sauna host is in charge. Next to it is Hamnbadet, a floating pool with one basin of salt water from the Göta river and one of fresh water. Activities in the park are run by the association Passalen in partnership with the city. Göteborg & Co, the city's destination company, records that in summer 2024 the prototype was replaced by a new, identical building on the same site, reusing the facade panels of the original and adding a lift up to the sauna room.
