The Mincetur record states the complex is run by the Municipalidad Provincial de Caylloma and has 6 pools, 5 in operation, with water from the Cotallaulli volcano that rises at 80 to 85 °C, passes through cooling wells (serpentines) and reaches the pools at 38 to 40 °C. Pools 1 and 5 are open-air under shade netting, pool 2 is indoors with a dry steam chamber, pool 3 is indoors and shaded, and pool 4 is reserved for older people; the recommended maximum stay is 45 minutes. Hours are 04:00 to 19:00, with closing times varying by pool. The complex has a small ethnological museum and a suspension bridge over the Colca river. AUTOCOLCA recorded 16,218 foreign, 46,386 national and 82,274 local visitors in 2024. In March 2024 the municipality announced service improvements ahead of Holy Week.
